The integration of technology into education has created new opportunities to make teaching-learning more experiential, interactive and learner-centred. However, the effective use of digital resources such as Virtual Labs requires adequate pedagogical orientation and practical familiarity among teachers and teacher educators. Virtual Labs can complement physical laboratory experiences by enabling learners to conduct experiments, manipulate variables, observe outcomes, visualise abstract concepts and learn through exploration in a safe and flexible environment.
In pursuance of the recommendations of NEP 2020, and with the availability of 850+ curriculum-aligned Virtual Labs on DIKSHA, there is a need to build the capacity of teachers, teacher educators and other stakeholders to effectively identify, access and integrate these resources into classroom teaching, learning and assessment. The training will provide participants with hands-on orientation on navigating Virtual Labs, selecting appropriate activities based on learning outcomes, integrating them into lesson plans, and using them for experiential, inquiry-based and competency-based learning.
The proposed five-day online training programme will provide wider and equitable access to teachers and educational stakeholders across the country. The online mode will enable participants to join from their respective locations, explore demonstrations by experts, and subsequently use the resources for self-paced professional learning. The programme will, therefore, strengthen the pedagogical use of Virtual Labs and support the effective implementation of technology-enabled and experiential learning as envisioned in NEP 2020.
To make effective use of these rich resources, teachers and students need in-depth orientation from the purpose of pedagogical incorporation to self-paced learning using Virtual Labs in the classroom or at home. Hence, CIET-NCERT has planned for organizing weekly online training on “Integration of Virtual Labs in Teaching-Learning and Assessment” from 24th August to 1st September 2026 onwards from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM.
Each session will be accessible through the NCERTOFFICIAL YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/@NCERTOFFICIAL), the PMeVidya Mobile App Android and iOS, and PM eVidya DTH TV channels for Grades 6–12 through live streaming from the NCERT studio and will include expert presentations and demonstrations from 24th August to 1st September 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The complete series will also be compiled and made available as a course on the DIKSHA portal (ciet.ncert.gov.in/w&t) to ensure wider access among the educational community.
