As per Government’s Approval No. M/40/2025-Estab (II)-SED dated 7th July 2025, the following textbook Committees are hereby re-constituted with immediate effect and until further orders as given below.

The Textbook Committee will:
- serve as Syllabus and Textbook Development Teams for Elementary Schools to fulfill Task No. 98 of SARTHAQ with reference to Para 4.30 to 4.33 of NEP 2020.
- serve as the authority responsible for making decisions on curriculum, syllabus and the selection of textbooks for prescription for elementary schools.
- have the mandate to determine whether textbooks will be adopted or adapted, ensuring they align with the educational needs and priorities of the state.
- be responsible for approving textbooks to be prescribed for elementary schools for each consecutive year before commencement of the academic year for different curricular and inter-disciplinary areas.

- be responsible for ensuring contextual relevance for their respective subjects.
- modify content in textbooks based on the decision of Textbook Committee for Elementary Schools for adoption or adaptation of content.
- ensure that all relevant data in the textbooks are updated and accurate for effective transaction in the classrooms.
- propose evidence-based capacity/professional development programmes (long-term & short-term) for teachers in their respective subjects on needs basis.
- Propose suggestions and feedback to Textbook Committee for Elementary Schools for making relevant changes or updates in the contents of the textbooks.
